The Rancho Veal slaughterhouse in Petaluma, California, was attacked by animal rights extremists in March who did about $10,000 damage to the facility.

Activists sprayed "Stop the Killing" in red paint on the building and started a fire.

Rancho Veal has been a repeat target of animal rights extremists. In January 2000 the Animal Liberation Front took credit for setting fire to three buildings at the site causing an estimated $250,000 in damage.
