News Subsite

Since I still don’t find I have the time to return to blogging about animal rights, I’ve created a news subsite — http://www.animalrights.net/news — which is basically a Digg clone. I’ll be posting links to news stories related to AR and others are free to submit and discuss stories there as well.

There are some anti-spam filters in place there, so spam should be kept to a minimum.

Last night while riding back from the store I was listening to Public Radio, which my wife had turned on, and there was a segment on animal rights.

Some lady who I believe was a professor was saying we need to think of animals as who’s and not it’s. That it is a defense mechanism to distance us from their “murder”.

The program talked about how little has been done or changed by their efforts.

I just want to say, that perhaps, if they want the meat eaters to make concessions and change, then they need to make some on their side too.

If they want us to make animals equal with humans, then we need to prosecute deer and squirrels who steal crops from farmers. Or how about coyotes and wolves who kill chickens, shouldn’t they be prosecuted for murder?

So when the animal rights activists jail a deer for stealing, or prosecute a wolf for murder, then I will consider them a who.

    Doesn’t that sound fair?
